What will you learn in the Memory Mentor Class?

  • Understand how your brain naturally alerts, orients, encodes, learns, and remembers (neuropsychology 101)
  • How to efficiently use your brain’s natural way of attending and remembering
  • How to use a memory notebook to track in a systematic way
  • How to design and organize your environment to avoid overstimulation and distractions
  • Recognizing the wondering mind in a non-judgmental way and redirecting back to your task with ease and kindness, instead of criticism 
  • Breaking down tasks into manageable parts
  • Pace tasks based on time to avoid mental fatigue or mental branching 
  • How to use efficient memory and time management strategies and identify inefficient strategies  
  • How to handle difficult emotions with greater ease when you are frustrated with yourself
  • How to stop being so hard on yourself when you forget
  • How to proactively identify your needs when you are procrastinating 
  • How to use your phone as a personal assistant 
  • Skillfully communicate to others your needs 

Instructor(s): 

  • Amir Ramezani, PhD, is a neuropsychologist who works with individuals experiencing memory, organization, and attention-hyperactivity issues. He integrates memory and executive functioning training skills from his clinical work and research at UCLA an UC Davis, and bases class instruction on scientifically validated skills. Amir has published over 20+ research articles and book chapters in the area of memory, attention, and cognitive functioning. Sometimes, there might be other instructors or assistants in this program to support everyone along the way.

Refund policy: 

  • We do not give any refunds. If you request a refund or cancellation 20 days before the start of your course, we will transfer your registration to a future course. We offer one transfer per registration.
